IT'S SHOWDOWN TIME!
We're getting close to conclusion of the long adventure narrated in the December
and January issues, which has led Jonathan Steele to confront an old
acquaintance, Zenia Kristatos, once his lover and now the head of a dreaded
terrorist organization, in a dramatic showdown culminating in a battle to the
death. But the album "Il momento di uccidere"
(which will be available at your newsagent's until March 30) also has a self-contained story,
with artwork by Antonella Platano, in which Jonathan, Myriam and Jasmine have lost their memory
and are wandering around a strange city shrouded in perennial fog. An unexpected
consequence of this story will be developed in the following album,
"Un nuovo mondo",
where Jonathan will find himself amazingly projected a thousand years
into the future and into the abyss of the constellations, where he has to
contend with space ships, battles in space and aliens, all illustrated with the
usual masterly touch of Sergio Giardo. Once he's back on Earth, in the issue
that will be on your news-stand at the end of April, entitled "Legame di
sangue", Jonathan's next destination will be Pakistan, where a bloody war with
India is jeopardizing thousands of lives, including the lives of his friend
Jasmine's relatives. But the rescue mission on which our heroes embark will be
blighted by dramatic unforeseen developments and by the use of magic in a
conflict where the only traditional aspects left are death and destruction. As
regards the artwork, we are happy to announce the long-awaited return of Rossano
Rossi, who has given a masterly rendering of the war scenes, the real
protagonists of this story. |
