DARKWOOD EAGLE!
What's the meaning of the mysterious symbol that stands out on the cloak of the
Spirit with the Hatchet? What is it, apart from the sense of guilt springing
from his father's massacre of Indians, that has led Zagor to become an avenger?
In the year 2001, which celebrates forty years of his presence on news-stands,
Zagor reveals to his faithful readers the origin of the legend. Thanks to the
gripping scripts by Moreno Burattini and the marvellous artwork by Gallieno
Ferri, we will finally come to know the magical, heart-rending experiences
underlying Zagor's mission to Darkwood and we will be witness to his first
meeting with a bitter enemy, the evil sakem Kanoxem, in the special "Darkwood
Year Zero"! The March issue,
"Plotone d'esecuzione",
with a script by Mauro
Boselli and artwork by Massimo Pesce, contains the concluding part of the
adventure in Mexico, which involved the special participation of his friend and
enemy Guitar Jim, amid bandidos, warriors and special forces of the Mexican
army. Jim finds himself facing a difficult choice: either seize the gold
destined to the irregular troops and gain the love of beautiful Pearl or retain
the esteem and friendship of Zagor, who runs the risk of being shot. During the
journey back to Darkwood, in the story entitled "La Nave Nera", by Boselli and
Raffaele Della Monica, Zagor and Cico are on board t he Paloma, Captain Vega's
ship, and they are crossing a stretch of sea where ships disappear without a
trace, an area haunted by the grim legend of the Black Ship. Our heroes have to
face mutiny, sharks, storms, Caribe cannibals, Captain Van Zant's ruffianly crew
and... vampires!
