FAREWELL, CAPTAIN MIKI, by Thomas Martinelli. An article published in Il Manifesto on May 5th 2000: "The last significant title by EsseGesse is Commander Mark, a mixture of Native Americans, rebellion and freedom in an America that is conquering its own independence. FAREWELL TO CAPTAIN MIKI'S FATHER
, by Guido Tiberga.

That is how Dario Guzzon, one of the creators of Italian western-like cartoons, remembered the beginning of the Fifties and the artistic brotherhood with Pietro Sartoris and Giovanni Sinchetto. Together, developing texts and cartoons in turn, the three men gave life to characters such as Captain Miki, the Great Blek, Commander Mark, paper heroes belonging to a fantastic world totally unknown to the youngest readers…".

FAREWELL TO GUZZON, CAPTAIN MIKI'S FATHER. Editorial published in Il Domani della Calabria on May 5th 2000:"At the end of the Forties Guzzon, together with another two illustrators - Pietro Sartoris and Giovanni Sinchetto - founded the EsseGesse group (an acronym based on the three surnames of the authors). Their joint work gave life to three stories that were to be enormously successful, with very high circulation for that time. Captain Miki was created in 1951, Blek Macigno in 1954 and Commander Mark in 1966…".

AND LINA CHOSE THE ADVENTURE OF… CARTOONS,
by Giovanni Salviati. LET ME INTRODUCE MYSELF, I AM COMMANDER MARK,
by Marina Gersony. An interview with Lina Buffolente published in
Il Giornale on July 23rd 1996: "The comic panels of this fantastic hero, a good and a just man, set in a good and just America, are still very popular. And what the readers like most is the co-protagonist, Gufo Triste, the plaintive pain in the neck for Mark, one of the most successful supporting characters of Italian cartoons…".
